Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how CargoSpace users can request deletion, correction, or access to personal information.

These are CargoSpace launch operating terms and should be reviewed by a South African legal advisor before broad public paid rollout.

How to request deletion

Email hello@cargospace.africa with the subject line 'Data deletion request'. Include the phone number, email address, or account details you used with CargoSpace so we can locate the relevant records.

If your request relates to WhatsApp, include the WhatsApp number you used to contact CargoSpace. If your request relates to a Meta app-scoped identifier, Meta may also call CargoSpace's data deletion callback.

What CargoSpace may delete or retain

CargoSpace will delete or anonymise personal information where it is no longer needed for marketplace operations, trust, support, security, legal compliance, accounting, disputes, or fraud prevention.

CargoSpace may retain limited records where required for active shipments, payment reconciliation, delivery evidence, disputes, legal obligations, security investigations, or legitimate business records.

Meta data deletion callback

CargoSpace provides a Meta-compatible data deletion callback at /api/meta/data-deletion. The callback verifies Meta signed requests when META_APP_SECRET is configured.

CargoSpace does not currently use Facebook Login as a primary user login. If Meta sends an app-scoped user deletion request, CargoSpace returns a confirmation code and deletion status URL for audit tracking.
